MSG is growing our Municipal Transportation Team in Michigan and is seeking a transportation engineer to work on local agency roadway and municipal utility design projects and working in a 3D digital environment. Candidates for this position will be working in a collaborative team environment located in the heart of Detroit s bustling downtown. Knowledge of OpenRoads design software is preferred. AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus. This position offers significant opportunity for growth and advancement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the preparation of transportation design plans/3D modeling for local agency transportation and/or municipal utility projects.
  • Performing and checking various design calculations
  • Performing various tasks as they relate to preparing a design package (special provision development, estimates, RID packages, etc.) for milestone submittals to clients
  • Providing technical expertise/guidance to junior staff
  • Support MDOT projects, as needed, with similar responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
A Bachelor s degree in civil engineering or similar field of study and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan (or other state with the ability to obtain registration in Michigan upon employment) is required, with 8-10 years experience in the transportation and municipal utility sectors.
