Description:

We are looking for an Engineer to join our RF Design Team in our Fremont facility, specializing in Acousto-Optics (AO) for A&D, Industrial and Life Sciences.

Reporting to the RF Design Engineering Manager, you will work in our world-leading photonics design & development project Team that focuses on our broad portfolio of High Power RF Drivers and Modulators that are utilized in a diverse range of applications, including semiconductor laser manufacturing, sensing in Aerospace & Defense and microscopy in medical imaging. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of our business by working with pioneering companies in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific in order to fuel the company s growth and turn new ideas into innovative product lines.

Applicants are expected to have broad experience and understanding in the application of principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards relating to RF/Microwave design. Must possess the skills to design and develop electronic driver products and have the skills and experience necessary to take the product from block diagram to proof of concept prototype, including Power Amplifiers, mixed-signal systems, etc.

Key Activities

  • Designs (N) and redesigns (E) electronics as required to improve performance, cost and manufacturability.
  • Develop derived requirements, design, simulate expected performance, oversee PCB layout, fabrication, and test completed assemblies.
  • RF circuit design, layout, test, and evaluation
  • Generate and track the release of new product part numbers, BOMs and documentation through Product Life Management System
  • Work with the design team, other cross functional teams and suppliers to ensure his or her overall design and each specified sub-system meets all requirements.
  • Provide hands on technical support to prototype & pilot production build activities
  • Supports Manufacturing and QA regarding technical problems which may arise with production electronics.
  • Supports Marketing/Sales regarding technical issues.
Requirements:

ESSENTIAL

  • BS Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of directly related work experience or equivalent training
  • Ability to read and understand mixed-signal electronic schematics
  • Ability to adjust to multiple demands and shifting work priorities
  • Direct experience with standard instruments such as oscilloscopes, RF power meters, spectrum & network analyzers, and related instruments
  • Good verbal, written communication skills

DESIRED

  • MS Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with design software such as Altium
