Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with a dynamic, woman-owned government consulting organization seeking a seasoned HR Generalist to join their leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring both tactical and strategic HR expertise, a proactive attitude, and an innovative approach to managing HR operations. This position requires on-site work for 4 days per week, with 1 day remote in Baltimore County, MD. COVID-19 vaccination and annual booster are mandatory.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, draft, and implement HR policies.
  • Manage employment-related inquiries, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting, including bid/retention efforts for government contracts.
  • Coordinate new hire orientations and complete pre-employment requirements.
  • Prepare reports and maintain HR data.
  • Review and edit job requisitions and HR content.
  • Oversee performance management and employee training programs.
  • Act as liaison with the benefits broker.
  • Manage HRIS and recommend process improvements.
  • Address employee relations issues and ensure compliance.
  • Perform additional HR duties as required.

Qualifications/Background profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree and SHRM certification required.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Bamboo (or similar).
  • Experience in government contracting or consulting environment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HR legal matters, including risk avoidance and compliance.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a leadership team.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
