Currency Exchange International is seeking a QA Tester to work within the technology team and support its growth.

Description: The QA Tester will be constantly involved in newly developed project testing, as well as previously rolled out features. Tester will have to keep constant communication between developers, CXI members and customers to ensure solid understanding of customer needs and what needs to be delivered. Tester has to be able to express problems well enough that developers can fix the issue as quickly as possible. Tester will work with the Testing team to assist with the preparation of test plans and the testing of software adhering to company guidelines and standards. Tester will run functional tests, customer scenario testing, stress testing and automated testing. The ultimate goal of the tester will be to clean out any bugs and improve the quality of our software. Tester will be closely involved with documenting CXI’s software procedures, which are essential for expanding CXI as a company. As a member of the support team, the Tester will be responsible for communicating with users (internal and external) about issues encountered in the system, and either resolve them or escalate to other members of the team.

Essential Functions:

  • Translate functional requirements and use cases into clear, concise, detail-oriented test plans/cases
  • Promptly provide testing feedback and communication to all stakeholders
  • Participate in planning meetings
  • Interpret business criteria and identify missing requirements
  • Adhere to Sprint schedule milestones
  • Keeping up to date with company’s software standards and requirements
  • Assist in maintaining project and system documentation to reflect changes, enhancements and developments ensuring its accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
  • Assist CXI team in being responsible for all output of the testing results during unit testing
  • Regularly monitoring e-mails sent to the support team to address issues and resolve them
  • Following up with team members with unresolved issues, or to confirm resolved issues

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field a plus
  • Prior experience in the FINTECH industry a plus
  • Understanding of computer programming (PHP, JavaScript, MySQL) a plus.
  • Knowledge of methods and processes used in quality assurance of software programs
  • Knowledge and understanding online software development process
  • Must be detailed oriented, problem solver and organized
  • Excellent writing and documenting skills, as well as oral communication
  • Ability to clearly communicate with non-technical personnel

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Days of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
