Job Overview

We are in search of a committed ESL Instructor to deliver engaging instruction to students at the Beginning and Intermediate levels. This remote position entails collaboration with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to ensure comprehensive support for students through meticulous tracking of their performance, including attendance, test results, and overall progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver effective ESL instruction tailored to Beginning and Intermediate learners.
  • Collaborate closely with the Student Retention & Basic Skills Specialist to monitor and enhance student progress.
  • Maintain thorough records of student performance, including attendance and assessment outcomes.
  • Design and implement innovative lesson plans along with comprehensive course materials.
  • Timely respond to student inquiries and provide constructive feedback on assignments.
  • Partner with colleagues to connect students with relevant resources and opportunities available throughout the program.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Adult Education or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in teaching English Language Learners (ELLs).
  • Proficiency in utilizing MS Office, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Strong communication skills tailored to diverse and at-risk populations.
  • Willingness to engage in cross-training for various positions within the GED/ESL program.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in ESL/TESOL, Adult Education, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Somali are advantageous.
  • Possession or willingness to acquire Adult Basic Education Authorization (ABEA) from the Colorado Department of Education within three years of hire.
  • Experience in various instructional formats serving diverse student populations.
  • Evidence of dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in educational contexts.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Compensation ranges from \(31.06 to \)33.76 per hour, determined by education, experience, and skills.
  • This is a part-time role with accrued sick leave available as per the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.
