Description

Leads all aspects of the company's quality auditing, calibration, and quality compliance systems to ensure continued certification to ISO 9001/AS9100, and customer required standards. Contributes to development of Quality Department strategy, policies, processes, and standards. This scope also includes flow-downs to the supply base as applicable. Monitors and analyzes quality performance to identify gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Manages all aspects of the internal audit program including scheduling, planning, reporting, and evaluation of effectiveness.
  • Manages all aspects of the calibration program, including personnel assigned to the calibration function.
  • Facilitates the 8D (structured problem solving) program, this includes issuing 8D investigations, retaining documentation related to the 8D program, and reporting 8D activity to the senior leadership team
  • Facilitates quarterly management reviews; gather required information, prepare presentation, and lead meeting
  • Review quality manual and quality objectives for continued suitability
  • Assist process owners in identifying opportunities for significant quality initiatives and AS9100 compliance
  • Represent Quality during external (customer) audits as needed. This can include customer compliance areas that are outside of pure quality content (i.e., weld audits).
  • Encourage continuous process improvement through a positive and diplomatic approach
  • Develop and publish monthly Quality Newsletters to promote awareness to Quality concepts and AS9100 requirements.
  • Prepare responses to customer surveys as part of the business development process.


Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of management and within departments
  • Ability to multi-task with competing priorities
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word (Microsoft) skills
  • Ability to interpret graphs, charts, and data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification (preferred)
  • Five (5+) years’ experience in a leadership or decision-making role related to AS9100 compliance and internal auditing within the manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor of Science in Business or other related field preferred
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings such as prints and engineering change orders
  • Ability to review and develop QMS documents such as standard operating procedures, quality operating procedures, and policies for opportunities for improvement
