Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update technical documentation and communication that includes user guides, quick reference guides, training guides, reference materials, release notes, infographics, UI copy, newsletters, etc.
  • Learn and use a variety of software applications from a user interface perspective.
  • Quickly learn and apply new tools, processes, and standards.
  • Collaborate with a variety of development teams throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Participate in cohort project with other Summer Team Members, developing and designing team specific tasks, executing project work, and delivering progress presentations.
  • Participate in project focused Scrum rituals (standup, refinement, planning, retrospective).

Qualifications

  • Graduating with a bachelor s degree in 2025 or 2026 (current junior/senior status).
  • The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from the end of May to mid-August.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to both thrive in a team environment and effectively work independently to complete assignments on time.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to receive and apply feedback.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills while being comfortable in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple, and understandable way.
  • Proven experience in writing and editing compelling content, with the capability to provide writing samples upon request.
  • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills, capable of driving multiple projects forward simultaneously from inception to execution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to create a wide variety of materials in a timely manner.
  • Basic understanding of IT concepts and terminology to accurately translate technical information into accessible content.
  • Curious and eager to learn about new concepts, ideas, and technologies, with strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

Nice to have:

  • Work examples of prior projects or experience related to this role.
  • Prior experience performing activities related to relevant IT roles, such as: Journalist, Social Media, Technical Writer.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle, Agile methodologies, and Confluence as a plus.
