THE ROLE

poppi is seeking an experienced Sr. Quality Management System Specialist to join our dynamic team. This remote role requires a candidate with a technical background in food manufacturing quality. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining quality systems, and driving continuous improvement in the quality department through management of foundational quality programs and key performance metrics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage document control processes for quality documentation, including Product Manuals, SOPs, work instructions, specifications, and records, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and revision control.
  • Review and update SOPs, policies, and standards regularly to ensure compliance to cGMP standards, FDA, and certification requirements. Works with document owners to ensure timely document review and update as applicable.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement; prepare and present reports to management. Prepare quality metrics for quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Support supplier management program including annual scorecard assessments, maintenance of quality documentation, raw material testing, and COA review
  • Maintain and continuously improve PowerBI system to analyze and interpret internal and external data and adherence to standards.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) program to address quality issues and prevent recurrence. Guide CAPA owners to ensure timely fulfillment of process requirements; compiling, analyzing, and communicating overall status of process performance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on quality systems, procedures, and regulatory compliance to ensure understanding and adherence across departments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement initiatives, supporting operational efficiency and product quality enhancements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices in quality management to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Investigate product failures, coordinate complaint investigations, and maintain trend analysis in support of KPIs
  • Support traceability and mock recall efforts
  • Update and maintain approved supplier list to include ingredients, packaging, 3rd party labs, contract manufacturers, consultants, service providers, etc.
  • Update and maintain customer portals, questionnaires, and documentation requests
  • Travel as needed to support quality initiatives such as new product launches, trials, or other to meet other poppi business requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Experience working in a high-growth environment where decisions are made swiftly and priorities shift throughout the day.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, CDPH, etc) and industry standards (GMP, HACCP, GFSI, etc).
  • Experience managing quality systems data.
  • Experience working with electronic document management systems.
  • Proficient at reviewing procedural documents, technical specifications, programs, policies, and records.
  • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote, home-office environment.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of experience in food or pharmaceutical quality systems management.
  • Technical degree in food science, biology, agriculture, meat science, or related field.
  • HACCP & PCQI certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Netsuite (preferred), and PowerBI (preferred).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel up to 25% by plane and car to domestic or international sites.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Some lifting and the movement of moderate loads require 50-pound lifting requirement.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, based on business demands.

COMPENSATION: Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $85,000 - $95,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.
