GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision, processes reports and other legal information and documents for the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD); enters data in automated records management systems; provides information within scope of authority.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; and one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses Or Certifications
GENERAL PURPOSE: Under general supervision, processes reports and other legal information and documents for the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD); enters data in automated records management systems; provides information within scope of authority.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Performs basic clerical and administrative duties in accordance with SAPD procedures and City policy, including data entry, record keeping, and maintaining files.
- Receives, verifies and enters SAPD data into database systems; copies and distributes reports.
- Provides information and assistance to the public and others having business with SAPD within scope of authority; may collect fees and issue permits, and balance cash drawers.
- Processes reports, documents and forms; reviews documents and data for compliance and accuracy.
- Maintains the absolute confidentiality of all records and information.
- Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Other related duties as required.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; and one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses Or Certifications
- Must possess a valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and polygraph is required.
- Typing test required.
- City policies and procedures.
- Basic regulations governing the release of information from law enforcement agency records.
- Maintaining accurate records.
- Entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
