The State of New Jersey’s Department of Education (NJDOE) is seeking a QA Tester to review project expectations, create test cases and acceptance criteria, execute tests, and evaluate and document results. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of creating test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria, 5+ years of creating test procedures and training materials, and 5+ years of tracking defects and troubleshooting errors.

Required Skills/Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience creating test cases, test scripts, and acceptance criteria
• 5+ years of experience executing test cases under varying circumstances
• 5+ years of experience documenting and evaluating test results
• 5+ years of experience detecting, logging, and reporting program bugs
• 5+ years of experience tracking defects and troubleshooting errors
• 5+ years of experience creating test procedures and training materials

Desired Skills/Years of Experience:

• 5+ years of experience with data analysis and use of relational databases
• 1+ year of experience with K-12 data
• 1+ year of experience with Snowflake, Salesforce, Tableau

The QA Tester will be tasked to:

• Review project expectations, create test cases and acceptance criteria, execute tests, and evaluate and document results
• Maintain responsibility for quality assurance of the systems
• Create functional and non-functional testing requirements, test solutions, and ensure that the systems meet the desired specifications
• Execute test cases under varying circumstances
• Document and evaluate test results
• Detect, log, and reports program bugs
• Track defects and troubleshoot errors
• Create test procedures/training materials
• Demonstrate experience with data analysis
• Identify and implement appropriate testing strategies
• Collaborate with project team members on development, customer issues, and security requirements
• Demonstrate Agile development experience
