Job Description: Workday Functional Consultant

Location: Atlanta, GA - Hybrid

Contract Duration: Initial contract through end of fiscal year, with anticipated renewal on July 1, 2025

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation: Implement and support Workday Financials Project, Grants, and Billing modules. Collaborate with business owners and SMEs to deliver functional solutions.
  • Requirements Analysis: Analyze customer requirements and translate them into functional design and business processes, ensuring consistency with regulations and best practices.
  • Change Management: Develop and execute change management plans to facilitate transitions to new systems, coordinating with technical staff for seamless execution.
  • Testing and Upgrades: Coordinate and execute testing for new installations or upgrades, including writing test scripts, performing tests, and ensuring system quality.
  • Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between various workgroups, ensuring effective communication, and coordinating activities between functional and technical teams.
  • Evaluation & Troubleshooting: Evaluate existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Training: Develop training materials, conduct training sessions, and support end-users in understanding system changes or new features.
  • Documentation: Document system standards, project methodologies, and functional designs to ensure clear communication and process consistency.

Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements and system design.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and evaluating system performance.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing testing plans, including test script creation.
  • Ability to communicate system changes and updates to both technical teams and end-users effectively.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), quality assurance procedures, and industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience implementing Workday Project, Grants, and Billing
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in the Public Sector.
  • Expertise in translating business needs into functional requirements and designing effective application solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting and budgeting processes within Workday Financials.
  • Proficiency in developing Workday reports and conducting quality assessments.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
