Job Title: IT Service Management (ITSM) - Change Management Specialist

  • Location: Waukegan, Illinois

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Audit implemented changes to ensure compliance with established policies, with a primary focus on high- and medium-risk changes, particularly in manufacturing locations.
  • Conduct audits on proposed changes, including pre-CAB reviews and documentation assessments.
  • Lead regular investigations to identify and address unauthorized changes.
  • Perform data analysis to identify issues caused by changes and develop insights for continuous improvement.
  • Report on change metrics to AbbVie stakeholders and other business units, providing actionable information for decision-making.
  • Manage the failed change process, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are taken.
  • Oversee the re-certification of standard changes on an annual basis.
  • Manage the year-end change exemption process to ensure compliance during critical periods.
  • Train the Change Management staff in formal methods for assessing the risks and impacts of proposed changes, including the creation of templates for improved evaluation.
  • Oversee the management of change-related knowledge articles as needed.
  • Facilitate the CAB process, including scheduling and managing CAB meetings.
  • Verify the completion of thorough pre-production testing for proposed changes.
  • Identify repetitive, low-risk changes and work towards standardizing them as Standard Changes.
  • Periodically analyze urgent (Emergency), expedited, and latent changes to investigate potential misuse of these categories.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM) and Change Management processes.
  • Experience with auditing and compliance within a change management framework.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to present metrics and findings to stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing CAB meetings, conducting pre-CAB reviews, and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to train and mentor staff in change assessment and risk evaluation.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail in managing processes.
