SEARCH Group Partners, a premier recruiting firm, is looking for Business Development Director for one of our SaaS clients located in Chicago, IL. This is a hybrid position.
This position will be responsible to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and cultivate long-lasting client relationships. Your primary objective is to expand our market footprint and drive significant revenue.
Here are a few things you'll likely find yourself doing in this role...
- Craft and implement a robust business development strategy to drive adoption and revenue growth.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities through strategic lead generation, comprehensive market research, and effective networking with industry leaders.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers, while conducting thorough analyses of client needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes to tailor sales strategies.
- Lead contract negotiations and successfully close deals that align with revenue and growth objectives.
- Work closely with teams across product development, marketing, and customer success to enhance customer satisfaction and drive product improvements.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and trade shows to boost brand visibility and generate leads.
- Provide senior management with accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance insights.
Here's what you need to have...
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven success in business development within startup SaaS company.
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, pursuing, and closing complex, preferably in the retail, restaurant or hospitality space.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with the talent to explain complex products to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, spot growth opportunities, and develop actionable sales strategies.
- Experience managing long sales cycles (over 6 months) and excelling in consultative sales roles with a focus on quality lead targeting rather than high-volume cold calling.
- Strong negotiation skills, with the agility to handle objections, rejection, and ambiguity.
- Familiarity with Salesforce functions and dashboards, and experience with prospecting tools like Outreach.io.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for sales meetings, client presentations, and other business engagements.
