Position Summary

This position is responsible for oversight, coordination of overall strategy, architecture, design, deployment, utilization and enhancement of the Marion County Public Defender Agency (MCPDA) technology environment. This position is responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of technology aimed at keeping the MCPDA on the forefront of technical efficiency within established guidelines

Position Responsibilities

Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, acquisition, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the Agency, including Agency architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management. Develop and monitor the implementation of inter-local agreements. This position directs necessary technology investments in infrastructure, digital forensics and evidentiary matters, surveillance, automation, and special projects; ensures Agency information security; protects Agency technology assets. Assist the Chief Counsel to liaison with Supreme Court technology on the Public Defender Information System (PDIS) case management system and be available to provide updates on maintenance or interruptions in service. Maintain the Agency webpage for recruiting purposes, create and maintain social media identity for job recruiting. Maintain statistical data relevant to Public Defender issues, public safety issues and to support future grant requests. Aid attorneys in developing and using court technology for trial presentation. Participates in the logical design of database information systems. Select and implement suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits;

Design and customize technological systems and platforms to improve work flow. Analyze the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions. Will develop and publish the Marion County Public Defender Agency annual report as required by law. Partners with internal information technology services providers (ISA) and 3rd party technology service providers. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field from an accredited institution or university, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning, design and development. Minimum of five (5) years of IT work experience. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience dealing with various levels of internal/external management including operations and executive management. Must have superior organizational, time, and project management skills in managing conflicting priorities.
