SharePoint Developer

Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:

  • Solution Design: Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and design SharePoint solutions that meet business needs. Develop technical specifications and architecture plans for SharePoint projects
  • SharePoint Development: Develop and customize SharePoint applications using technologies such as SharePoint Designer, Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps and Power Automate), Visual Studio, PowerShell, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other relevant programming languages
  • User Interface (UI) Design: Design and implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for SharePoint sites and applications to ensure a positive user experience
  • Customization and Branding: Customize SharePoint sites' look and feel, including branding, master pages, and page layouts, to maintain consistency and align with organizational branding guidelines
  • Business Process Automation: Design and implement SharePoint workflows to automate business processes and streamline operations, enhancing efficiency and productivity
  • Integration: Integrate SharePoint with other business systems, such as Microsoft Office and third-party applications, ensuring data flow and seamless user experiences
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Support SharePoint-related issues, perform debugging, and resolve technical problems. Collaborate with the IT support team to ensure timely resolution of user inquiries
  • Security and Permissions: Implement security measures and manage user permissions to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of SharePoint content and functionality
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize SharePoint performance by monitoring, identifying bottlenecks, and applying best practices for performance tuning
  • Documentation and Training: Create technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer and end-user adoption of SharePoint solutions
  • SharePoint Governance: Assist in defining and maintaining SharePoint governance policies and standards to ensure compliance and proper use of SharePoint across the organization
  • Upgrades and Migrations: Participate in SharePoint version upgrades and migration projects, ensuring seamless transition and data integrity. Plan and execute migration projects to move content and applications from older versions of SharePoint to newer ones or from on-premises to SharePoint Online (cloud-based)
  • Configuration and Administration: Configure SharePoint sites, site collections, permissions, security settings, and other administrative tasks to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Training and User Adoption: Train end-users on effectively using SharePoint solutions and promote user adoption through workshops, demonstrations, and support

Position Requirements:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
  • Proven experience as a SharePoint Developer or similar role, with a strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, development, and administration
  • Proficiency in SharePoint technologies, including SharePoint Online (Office 365) and SharePoint Server (2016, 2019)
  • Experience with SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, PowerShell, and other SharePoint development tools
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint workflows, content types, web parts, and customization techniques
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Understanding of SharePoint security principles and best practices for permissions management
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of SharePoint migration and upgrade processes is a plus
  • Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint development are advantageous
  • US Citizen who either has an existing federal clearance or is clearable for Public Trust
