Hazen has an exceptional opportunity for a self-motivated and dynamic individual to join our West Region growing asset management team for water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects. This individual will perform and manage asset management related consulting services across a wide range of assets in the water and wastewater industry, as well as assist with strategic business development. This individual will also be expected to identify opportunities to apply many of the analytical skills used in asset management to internally assist engineering staff on planning and design projects. The location of the position is one of our northern California offices- Sacramento, San Francisco, and Concord.

The job duties for this position include:

  • Serving as Task Lead or Project Manager for relevant Asset Management (AM) projects responsible for project delivery, schedule and budgets.
  • Assist asset management team with developing all components of asset management plans .
  • Full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments on small to large projects including performing data analysis and developing technical memorandums/reports of results and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and assist in conducting Level 1 (Visual) Field Condition Assessments.
  • Participate in strategic business development planning and execution.
  • Participate in proposal development.
  • Interface with clients as required.
  • Assist with review and negotiation of new contracts
  • Develop, maintain and grow asset management expertise.
  • Increase awareness of Hazen asset management capabilities both externally (participation in industry organizations, conferences) and internally within Hazen.
  • Identify opportunities to apply elements of asset management to engineering projects not related to asset management.
  • Assist in the mentoring of junior staff to ensure that they are meeting their career goals and objectives.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related business data analytics field.
    • 8 years of experience
    • Proficient computer skills (Mircosolft Office Suite)
    • Database development skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with all levels of an organization and clients.
    • Ability to work with a team or independently.
    • Ability to travel regionally.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters degree
    • Professional Engineer license
    • Project management experience
    • Client management experience
    • Proposal development experience
    • Public speaking experience
    • Geospatial analysis skills using GIS (ArcMap)
    • Data mining or statistical analysis skills
    • Familiarity with comparative economics evaluations
