Summary

Provide leadership, direction and training to Crew Scheduling staff. Assist Crew Schedulers, employees and crewmembers as needed with operational and administrative task work. Support and assist the Sr. Manager of Crew Resources with staffing planning and other projects duties as assigned.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Include the following, but not limited to:
- Supervises the maintenance of all day-to-day processes to utilize Pilot resources using cost effective strategies and adherence to all Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable CBA and FAR work rules.
- Monitors, research, and resolves Crew Scheduling Software driven alerts/flags to ensure pilots are qualified to operate on flights.
- Oversees the DHL Crew reports accuracy and the transmission of Daily Operations Meeting slide presentation.
- Communicates with the Training Department to ensure that the Crew Qualifications data is up to date in the Crew Scheduling software.
- Serves as a on duty resource for crew members and on duty schedulers to solve scheduling concerns.
- Assists the Crew Schedulers to replace crewmembers when needed due to sickness, vacations, and legality conflicts.
- Monitors the inputs vacation, sick, and unavailable-to-fly dates in Crew Scheduling software.
- Monitors the coordinatization of crew travel, including obtaining and/or reserving air travel, ground travel, and hotel rooms when necessary.
- Oversees with the Crewmembers debriefs Calls and notifies the Crewmembers of their released from duty time, next schedule, and rest period.
- Monitors the Crew Scheduling software for all posted crew assignments in the open time flights report. Assist the Crew Schedulers by creating and publishing the roster’s Crewing Outlook for daily operations meeting as needed.
- Monitors the validation of the crew legalities, process jump seat requests and APIS requirements.
- Records/graphs/reports weekly and monthly scheduled service activity for distribution.
- Responsible for reassigning and covering excess work demands, Crew Scheduling Coordinator absences due to sickness and vacations.
- Maintain proper communication between shifts via shift turnover logs.
- Assist the Manager of Crew Scheduling by maintaining the operational contract services activity files, sick time, vacation time, discrepancies, crewmember score files and any miscellaneous files pertaining to the crewing of flights.
- Additional duties delegated by the Manager of Crew Scheduling.
- Maintain a high degree of proficiency utilizing the crew scheduling software.
- Consistently follows company policies and procedures, including governmental, safety and departmental standard operating procedures.
- Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Handles complex issues requiring judgment and interpretation.
- Achieve maximum efficiency of crews without risking the safety of the aircraft or crews.
- Embrace diverse people, thinking and style.
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record within acceptable guidelines as outlined in the company employee manual.
- Must be reliable and maintain confidentiality as needed.
- Must be able to perform with a high level of professional accuracy.
- Always maintain a rating of “good” or better on semi-annual Performance Evaluations.
Education and/or Certification:
- Provides a high level of customer service to internal customers and pilots, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to all FAR scheduling rules.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be customer service oriented and have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
- Knowledge of applicable FARs
- Experience directing operations Crew Scheduling activities or planning
- Possess proficiency in general Microsoft Office software.
- Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible to work up to 12-hour shifts.
- Overnight shifts availability.
- Weekends availability.
