Job Description

The Katherine Thomas School in Rockville is seeking to hire an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) who will be under the guidance and supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist. The position assists with and contributes to the diagnostic and rehabilitative services provided by the school Occupational Therapy department. Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of occupational therapy required. Must be able to work as a team member, ability to document and prepare accurate detailed records, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to obtain, clarify, and exchange information. At least 2 years of experience is preferred.

Required Experience

Required Experience of the OTA:

• Requires an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited educational program.
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and eligibility for a Maryland licensure must be established prior to employment
• One to two years of pediatric experience is preferred, but a new graduate with exemplary fieldwork experiences may be considered
• Must maintain current licensure and certification status consistent with state and professional standards
  
  

Benefits

A salary in the range of $29 - $37/hour plus a competitive benefits package is provided for the Occupational Therapy Assistant.
