Job Description:
The Process Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on technical support primarily in the Vinyl department, with additional support to other departments as needed. This role focuses on improving methods and procedures for manufacturing vinyl siding, skirting, and accessories, while driving process improvements and troubleshooting efforts to enhance operational performance and product reliability.

Job Description:
The Process Engineer is responsible for providing hands-on technical support primarily in the Vinyl department, with additional support to other departments as needed. This role focuses on improving methods and procedures for manufacturing vinyl siding, skirting, and accessories, while driving process improvements and troubleshooting efforts to enhance operational performance and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, justify, and implement methods to reduce manufacturing costs, improve processes, and enhance product reliability and process capability.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for process issues in the Vinyl department, conducting root cause analysis of extrusion processes.
- Implement corrective actions to resolve process problems and ensure optimal machine and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with management, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel to recommend process and equipment improvements.
- Coordinate modifications to extruders and equipment for new product manufacturing or to improve existing products.
- Review production, quality, maintenance, and operational reports to identify issues and communicate solutions to production management and supervisors.
- Train and support Manufacturing Supervisors and Extrusion Technicians, ensuring compliance with standard procedures and best practices.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work practices.
- Manage the Extrusion Technician Training Program, providing training on process changes and ensuring all technicians are up-to-date.
- Oversee startups, shutdowns, and troubleshooting activities, providing technical expertise to management and supervisors.
- Fill in for Manufacturing Supervisors as needed and address associate issues when required.
- Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) activities to maintain a safe working environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 to 10 years of significant extrusion experience in a fast-paced 24/7 post-form operation.
- Preferred: Experience using recycled materials in the extrusion process.
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot processes effectively.
