Position Title: Senior Materials and Processes (M&P) Engineer

Reports to: Research and Development Manager

Exempt/Non-exempt Exempt

We are looking for a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer

As a Senior Materials and Processes Engineer, you will be accountable for overseeing the development and implementations of the materials, processes and equipment required to move innovation to scale for the ideas and technology invented by the Development Engineering Group for Aerospace, Defense and Commercial applications. This position sits inside the Global R&D group for Vaupell.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the industrialization of key technologies for manufacturing of Aerospace Design, develop and maintain technical documentation to optimize current and future production processes.

Oversee the creation of processes, workflows, and manufacturing documentation necessary for developing advanced material products.

Interpret and collaborate with the Product Development group for the product design and development of robust, repeatable processes and specifications that continuously improve to ensure increased efficiency in the manufacture of our products.

The M&P group is accountable for the selection of commercially procurable test and manufacturing equipment for use on the production line.

Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering or equivalent

8-13 Years experience in the advanced materials and manufacturing industry

Demonstrable knowledge in materials assessment and development, assembly practices, material processing, specification creation

Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements

Proven project management and supplier experience

Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level

Knowledge and technical understanding of aerospace processes,

components and design techniques

Direct experience in the development, use and management of build instructions.
