UCT is looking for a talented Estimator II to join us in Chandler, AZ!

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for sheetmetal, weldments, tubular frames, and machine parts. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for fabrication projects, focusing on sheet metal, weldments, tubular frames, and machine parts.
  • Utilize SAP for various estimating and project management tasks.
  • Create and manage router development, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and material masters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine material requirements, labor costs, and production time.
  • Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in estimating processes
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to management and clients.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases and cost models.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest process improvements.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in fabrication estimating or related field
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in sheet metal, welding, and machining
  • Experience with router development, BOMs, and material masters.
  • Familiarity with GD&T principles and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
  • Familiarity with CAD solutions such as SolidWorks and EPDM

Educational/Certification Requirement:)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or related field and/or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in estimating or related areas (e.g., ASPE, AACE)
  • Experience with CAD software and 3D modeling

Experience Requirement:

  • 5+ years in similar position.

Overnight Travel:

  • Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
