Job Description

The Principal Package Engineer works closely with internal business and R&D teams along with Operations Package Engineering and external OSTATs to develop state of the art power packaging at or exceeding cost targets.

Responsibilities:

  • This role will directly report to the Sr Director of Power Packaging Technology within the Power Products Group (PWR).
  • Collaborate closely with each PWR BU and provide package technology solutions and roadmap to meet the BU requirements including cost and timing.
  • Collaborate with Renesas Operations team as well as external partners to full fill PWR packaging roadmap requirements and timelines.
  • Driver of cost alignments and competitiveness to ensure industry leading package cost
  • Potentially may include a few direct reports to assist in the execution of the roadmap.
Qualifications

  • BS or preferably MS/PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience with power package technology preferably in a product group
  • Knowledge on power packaging and market trends.
  • Experience working with external package vendors with successful co-package development in high volume production.
