Role:

Delmock Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Splunk Developer to support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in leading a team of architects to enhance the Modernized e-File (MeF) infrastructure architecture. This role involves ensuring alignment with the IRS future state architecture, reviewing, and approving infrastructure requirements, and developing and maintaining architecture artifacts and documentation according to IRS standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Dashboard Development: Creates and optimizes dashboards within the Splunk platform, leveraging Splunk SPL queries, reports, visualizations, and alerts to meet business needs.
  • Metrics Dashboards: Develops dashboards focused on business and server metrics to provide actionable insights.
  • Technical Documentation: Creates and maintains comprehensive technical documentation related to dashboard components, including XML, macros, and saved searches.
  • Configuration Management: Utilizes in-depth knowledge of Splunk configuration files (indexes.conf, props.conf, transforms.conf, output.conf, inputs.conf, and servers.conf) to ensure effective configuration and integration.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with teams responsible for installing and maintaining Splunk server infrastructure to ensure optimal configuration and performance.
  • DB Connect Configuration: Configures the Splunk DB Connect App, including identities and connections for data ingestion.
  • Alert Scheduling: Creates scheduled alerts using cron expressions to ensure precise monitoring and alerting within specified time ranges.
  • Code Deployment: Packages and deploys dashboard code from development to production and other environments, ensuring a smooth transition and functionality.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of Six (6) years in Information Technology, with at least 5 years specifically focused on developing advanced token-controlled Splunk dashboards using Simple XML, HTML, and CSS.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in gathering requirements from application teams and creating advanced Splunk dashboards.
  • Experienced in writing complex Splunk searches for alerts, reports, and dashboards.
  • Skilled in Splunk data ingestion from various sources, including database tables, application logs, and static formats such as CSV and JSON files.
  • Knowledgeable in understanding and customizing SQL queries.
  • Familiar with constructing Splunk-friendly regex expressions.
  • Proficient in optimizing Splunk search queries for optimal performance.
  • Two (2) years of experience using Splunk or other tools for storage projections.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), formerly known as Rational Team Concert (RTC).

Certifications:

  • Splunk Administrator Certifications.
  • Splunk Power User, Advanced Power User, and Developer Certifications.

Technical Experience:

  • Proven experience applying AI and Machine Learning tools, including the Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit, to troubleshoot business IT applications.
  • Experience in performance tuning and capacity planning within Linux and SAN storage infrastructure.
