Position Title(s): Mechanical Engineer: Levels 2-3

Position Description: Mechanical Engineers of all levels work with other Mechanical Engineers, Project Managers, Controls Engineers, Builders, Technicians and other personnel to conceptualize, design, test and validate automation systems.for various types of automation and robotic equipment. You will be involved with developing and fully designing equipment, layouts and subassemblies of automated robotic work cells.

Responsibilities: Levels 2 and 3

  • Develop and design equipment, layouts and subassemblies of automated robotic work cells in Solidworks CAD.
  • Produce mechanical detail drawings using Solidworks CAD.
  • Consult with other engineers to develop mechanical designs.
  • Present mechanical design reviews with internal team, customers and suppliers.
  • Communicate with vendors to specify and source major purchased components.
  • Ensure that equipment is designed to customer and/or Axis Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.
  • Interpret GD&T and Datum requirements for tooling designs.
  • Designs with NAAMS standard components.
  • Support build and assembly teams.
  • Take project assignment and direction from Mechanical Engineering Leads/Manager.

Additional Responsibilities: Level 3, Mechanical Designer

  • Manage and lead small-scale projects independently and work with project teams.
  • Review CAD data levels and revisions that are presented in customer parts.
  • Ability to train and teach less experienced Mechanical Design Engineers and Co-Ops / Interns.
  • Lead mechanical design presentations and reviews with internal team, customers and suppliers.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years mechanical design experience
  • Proven experience developing comprehensive design packages
  • Experience working with Solidworks CAD or other 3D CAD software
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
  • Experience designing automated machinery preferred
  • Experience with robotic simulation software preferred

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000

Additional Compensation: Overtime pay, year-end bonus, employee referral bonus, customer referral bonus
