A commercial HVAC and refrigeration contractor serving the New Jersey / New York area is seeking a highly skilled Commercial HVAC Boiler Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of commercial oil and gas burners, as well as atmospheric and condensing boilers for hot water and steam systems. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience and a strong understanding of industry safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs on commercial and industrial oil/gas burners, as well as atmospheric and condensing boilers for hot water and steam systems
  • System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues with heating systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Installations: Install and replace complete boiler units as needed
  • Compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and local boiler system codes. Maintain common knowledge of violations within boiler systems
  • Heating Controls & Electrical: Work with heating controls and handle basic electrical components of the systems
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of service work, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Customer Interaction: Provide professional customer service, addressing client concerns and explaining technical issues clearly
  • Overtime & Rotation: Be available to work overtime and participate in weekend rotation as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience servicing and maintaining commercial oil/gas burners and atmospheric/condensing boilers
  • Certifications: EPA Certification and relevant manufacturer certifications for servicing heating systems are required
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial oil/gas burners, boilers, and related systems
  • Safety Knowledge: Full understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to boiler maintenance
  • Basic Electrical Knowledge: Familiarity with heating controls and basic electrical work
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
  • Transportation: Valid Driver’s License is required for this position
