Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing SQL queries, designing and maintaining databases, and supporting applications that depend on complex database systems. You will work closely with application developers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data integrity, performance, and security in our SQL environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and scripts to support business applications.
  • Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain database schemas, tables, indexes, and views to meet performance and scalability requirements.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize existing queries and database structures to improve efficiency, reduce execution time, and prevent bottlenecks.
  • ETL Processes: Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data integration from various sources.
  • Data Security: Ensure database systems comply with security standards, including backup and recovery procedures, encryption, and data privacy regulations.
  • Collaboration: Work with application developers, system administrators, and business analysts to design and optimize database-driven applications.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform thorough testing, debugging, and documentation of SQL code to ensure functionality and accuracy.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation related to database structure, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support: Provide database support and troubleshooting expertise for application developers and end users.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency: Strong expertise in SQL, including advanced query writing, indexing, stored procedures, and triggers.
  • Database Systems: Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Optimization: Proven experience with query optimization and performance tuning techniques.
  • ETL Tools: Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architecture.
  • Experience with reporting tools like Power BI, SSRS, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as Azure SQL or Amazon RDS.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) for automation.
