Job Title: Business Systems Analyst
Duration: 3-month contract (opportunity for extension)
Location: Portland, OR
Pay Range: $53.39 - $56.61 per hour

The Business Systems Analyst will lead and facilitate requirements gathering sessions for the wildfire team, focusing on fulfilling OPUC requirements for future needs. The role involves collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders, creating data mapping documents for system integrations, and converting gathered requirements into user stories. This position will work on an aggressive project timeline with high levels of team interaction.

Position Responsibilities

  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Document requirements and translate them into user stories.
  • Prepare data mapping documents for multiple system integrations.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and business teams to elicit, document, analyze, and validate requirements.
  • Analyze business processes to identify gaps and offer solutions.
  • Investigate operational requirements and business issues, seeking effective solutions through automated and non-automated process improvements.
  • Work iteratively with stakeholders to identify potential benefits and define acceptance tests.
  • Provide expertise in business requirements for system specifications and enhancements.

Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent experience.
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions.
  • Proven ability to prepare data mapping documents.
  • Skilled in writing user stories.
  • In-depth knowledge of business processes and systems analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and experience in improving products or services.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and assertive.
  • Business Analyst certification is preferred but not required.
