Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture & Design:
    • Lead the design and architecture of PowerApps solutions tailored to DoD requirements.
    • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with DoD regulations and standards.
    • Integrate PowerApps with other Microsoft and third-party services, such as SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and Azure services.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Mentor and coach junior developers, ensuring best practices in coding, design, and security are adhered to.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Development & Customization:
    • Develop, customize, and extend PowerApps applications, including Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps, and PowerApps Portals.
    • Implement advanced workflows, custom connectors, and plugins using Power Automate and other Power Platform tools.
    • Integrate external data sources and services, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Ensure all solutions meet DoD security requirements, including data encryption, access control, and compliance with DoD365-J guidelines.
    • Work closely with security teams to conduct risk assessments and implement necessary security measures.
    • Stay updated on DoD cybersecurity policies and adjust solutions as needed.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and end-users to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Document architecture, design decisions, and solution components to ensure clarity and maintainability.
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for deployed solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect with a focus on PowerApps and the Power Platform.
    • Proven experience supporting federal projects, with a strong understanding of DoD environments and security requirements.
    • Expertise in SharePoint on-premises and Office 365 administration, particularly within a DoD context.
    • Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and integrating external data sources via on-premises data gateways.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Deep knowledge of PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI, and other Power Platform components.
    • Proficiency in developing complex solutions using SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and Azure services.
    • Strong understanding of Modernization and Analytics Initiative (MAI) within the federal sector.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and compliant solutions.
