Job Summary: The Supervisor/Lead - QA Operations is a pivotal role combining leadership with hands-on Quality Engineering (QE) responsibilities. This position requires excellent relationship management skills to effectively supervise the Software Quality Engineering team. The role involves collaborating with various IT stakeholders to ensure comprehensive functional and nonfunctional testing across multiple workstreams, mitigating business disruptions and regulatory risks for client. Additionally, this role includes working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop test designs and strategies, ensuring thorough test coverage for both upstream and downstream applications impacted by major system enhancements and new projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead QA efforts for multiple major projects, system enhancements, and production support releases across various applications.
  • Oversee daily QA operations, managing team productivity, providing feedback, and offering coaching to QA team members.
  • Provide technical leadership on solving technical issues, developing testing solutions, and implementing automation frameworks and testing standards.
  • Develop and implement QA test strategies and plans for complex enhancements, identifying project risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Drive improvements in DevOps processes and documentation of business rules and test management tools (e.g., DevOps).
  • Leverage extensive hands-on experience to support and guide team members as needed.
  • Lead the evolution and improvement of testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Automation QA team to transfer business knowledge and support the creation of manual regression test cases for automation.
  • Facilitate the integration of automated build test processes, ensuring high-quality code delivery and streamlining automation within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Create hands-on automation scripts using appropriate tools.
  • Adapt to a dynamic environment with a flexible approach.
  • Engage with business users and IT groups for requirement analysis and test planning within an Agile framework, identifying risks and impacts during sprint planning and early development stages.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on critical production issues and contribute to solution development.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business partners to ensure thorough testing.
  • Develop complex SQL reports to investigate data-related issues.
  • Work on diverse projects related to data management, API test design, and test development.
  • Perform annual reviews, setting goals for performance and deadlines aligned with the company's vision and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry, including EDI formats like HL7 (ADT, Orders, Charges), X12 (837/834, 270/271, 276/277), NCPDP, and HIPAA.
  • Proficiency in various testing types such as Functional, API, Integration, Data Integrity, Regression, Security, and Performance Testing.
  • Experience with multiple automation frameworks and a quick learner of new ones.
  • Recent experience with test automation tools and processes.
  • Ability to perform API testing using tools like ReadyAPI, SoapUI, Postman, and automate APIs.
  • Experience in heavy data validation and ETL process testing.
  • Strong SQL query writing skills and ability to script automated test cases.
  • Prior development experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to optimize testing approaches and efficiency.
  • Empathy for user interactions with products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and user-friendly information effectively.
  • Capability to resolve conflicts among team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
