The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Community Engagement & Training Specialist. This position is responsible for fostering strong relationships between the organization and the community, while delivering training and educational programs that meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.

This role involves planning and executing outreach initiative and building partnerships to raise awareness of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg's PAATH15 Crossroads human trafficking program and services. Additionally, the specialist provides education and training sessions for professionals, businesses, community members, students, staff, and volunteers enhancing skills and knowledge to identify and respond to human trafficking survivors in our communities. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential, along with a passion for community development and capacity building.

This highly professional position requires a dynamic person who will regularly travel throughout the project territory and will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. We strongly encourage former and retired law enforcement, attorneys, and other legal systems professionals to apply.

Position Details:

  • Hours: 37.5 hour work week; Monday-Friday 8am-4pm; with some non-traditional hours as required

Successful Candidates Will Be:

  • Achieving measurable results through community outreach and engagement initiatives
  • Building and maintaining strong coalitions or partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including professionals, law enforcement, medical personnel, government offices and officials, businesses, and community leaders
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful community-based projects
  • Managing multiple priorities and deadlines with a focus on outcomes and continuous improvement
  • Leveraging data and feedback to assess the effectiveness of outreach and training efforts
  • Demonstrating leadership in facilitating community workshops and training sessions that foster participation and empowerment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field with prior related work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving history, and reliable personal vehicle. Proof of insurability may also be required
  • Experience in engaging with underserved and marginalized communities is highly desirable and will be considered a valuable asset
  • Current FBI, criminal, and child abuse clearance or the ability and willingness to obtain
