Job DescriptionThis is for 3rd shift: Approximately 11:00 pm - 7:00 am EST
A Calibration Technician is responsible for the calibration, routine inspection, testing, maintenance of instruments, meters, gauges, and other testing and measuring equipment. The calibration technician will provide technical support of process instrumentation and control systems throughout the manufacturing and testing of Roanoke Night Vision products.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Good mechanical and strong electrical aptitude, strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledgeable of a wide array of industrial technologies including: electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum technology, and control systems.
Able to read and interpret schematics, drawings and technical manuals
Utilize test equipment (DVM, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Generator, computer based, etc.) appropriate to testing objective.
Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting skills for manufacturing, product quality assurance and facilities equipment systems
Perform routine calibrations on electrical and mechanical test equipment.
Maintain the calibration database for all internal calibrated equipment, monitor calibration due dates, and perform required calibrations.
Evaluate and troubleshoot non-operational equipment
Experience using various hand and power tools, multi-meter, leak detectors, electronic or computerized test systems etc.
Required:
Associate's degree in a technical discipline specific or equivalent years experience
Thorough knowledge of electronic circuitry, schematics, troubleshooting and safety practices.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Preferred:
Experience in Metrology specific to calibration and instrumentation.
Minimum two (2) years industrial background with an understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts.
Proficiency in attention to detail
