IT Support Technician

Metalcraft, a leader in the nameplate/label industry, providing identification solutions for customers worldwide, has a great opportunity for a full-time IT Support Technician. The IT Support Technician is a vital role that supports Metalcraft’s computer systems, servers, storage devices and network connections to ensure high availability and security of the supported business applications.

This individual also participates in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. What does a typical day look like?

  • Assist System Administrator and CIO in supporting Metalcraft’s information systems.
    • Maintain hardware and software security.
    • Ensure that adequate endpoint security protection is in place.
    • Wire network drops and maintain existing network infrastructure.
    • Support data analytics and reporting.
  • Support individual network users.
    • Set and maintain PC client configuration standards and set up new users.
    • Provide troubleshooting and support for computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and projectors.
    • Provide support for remote users.
    • Provide maintenance on PCs and other hardware.
  • Evaluate applications and software patches for desktop applications to see if they will solve desktop issues.
  • Act as front-end support for all incoming technical issues, and gather accurate data related to the incidents reported by end users. Escalate complex issues to the System Administrator or CIO and non - IT related problems to the appropriate department.
  • Provide support for ERP software including Crystal Reports and Microsoft SSRS Reports.
  • Support Apple and Android mobile devices and MDM software.
  • Support VoIP phone system.
  • Ensure that Metalcraft has appropriate software licenses and maintain asset records for warranties
  • Assist with workflow and automation projects to improve efficiency.
  • Perform quality work for assigned duties based on operating procedures and responsibilities assigned to the position.
  • Write and maintain standard work procedures.
    • Document problems, diagnostics, interactions, next steps, and solutions in an IT ticket system
What Special Job Characteristics and Skills are you looking for?

  • Two year degree in Information Technology field or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years experience in workstation troubleshooting.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of internal teams.
