The Director, Business Strategy, Marketing & Insights will manage and lead all strategic, business performance, category, brand, Direct, competitive and consumer analysis and initiatives across the marketing 5 Ps for Charter Communications/Spectrum Multicultural account.

Ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with Multicultural fluency, business acumen and marketing experience, a can do attitude, with both strategic and executional expertise who works well in a high-energy, fast-paced team environment to effectively analyze data and research to develop powerful strategic marketing decks and campaign insights/briefs. Must love direct response/marketing as much as brand work, and presenting both internally and to the client. This role requires multi-tasking, flexibility to client requests and changes, and knowledge of the telecom/mobile category is ideal. Being both a team player and self-starter are required. Equally comfortable in a lean entrepreneurial agency and client corporate environment. We are looking for the right fit, so the level can vary. This is not a 9 to 5 job, but definitely flexible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acquire in-depth intelligence and knowledge of, and be conversant in key clients businesses, issues and trends for Hispanic, African American, Asian and General Market, so as to define problems, find opportunities and develop actionable plans, strategies, insights and presentation decks including assisting the senior clients create their compelling PowerPoint decks for the C-Suite
  • Read, collect, cross-analyze and interpret to draw valid conclusions from Client research and metrics, online sources, reports, syndicated research and databases (Simmons) to develop assessment reports, presentations, briefs and business communications
  • Cull research to help understand category, brands, targets, etc., and proactively share
  • Analysis will include business opportunity, performance and solutions, CRM, strategic roadmaps, category, trends, competitive, segmentation, positioning, product mix, market priorities, creative insights, digital, social media and overall marketing plans

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree required and MBA preferable
  • 10+ years related experience in planning at an advertising agency or client side
  • Knowledge of/experience with telecom/mobile/technology and direct marketing preferred
  • Leader who seeks out opportunity and challenge, and find competitive and audience gaps
  • Excellent at building a compelling business case, marketing deck or story
  • Must work well under pressure, prioritizing projects according to changing deadlines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, adept at internal and external relationships
  • Highly organized, detailed, multi-tasking, and client service-minded approach
  • Strong analytical and trending skills, and quantitative/qualitative research experience
  • Ability to dig deep into category, marketing and consumer data to generate insights
  • Proficiency in MS Office/Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Simmons, Nielsen, digital and social listening tools and AI tools
  • Manage up, down and sideways effectively. Align with your supervisor/leadership s goals, keep them always informed and be accountable, provide clear direction, expectations and coach junior staff, and be responsible for clear briefings, input and follow-up with peers in other areas/depts. involved
