Job Description

Job Description
Corvid Technologies seeks an excellent candidate to join in support of the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) in the Platforms and Weapons Portfolio Management (PWPM) Directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). The role in PWPM is as the Counter small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-sUAS) / Counter Unmanned Systems (C-UXS) Action Officer.

The position is responsible for the Counter Unmanned Systems Portfolio. The current emphasis within this portfolio is on countering unmanned small aircraft systems (C-sUAS), requiring knowledge and background in air defense and/or force protection, with specific background in C-sUAS being a significant plus.

In addition to the main focus of C-sUAS, this position is responsible for the portfolio of DoD counter unmanned systems (C-UXS) such as C-UGV, C-USV, and C-UUV. Counter Unmanned Ground Vehicles (C-UGV) refers to defeating remotely operated or unmanned (also uncrewed) cars, trucks, tracked or wheeled robotic systems which travel or operate primarily on land. Counter Unmanned Surface Vessels (C-USV) refers to defeating unmanned, autonomously or remotely-operated surface vessels, boats or sails. The majority of the all C-UAS / C-UXS are non-programs of records (NPR) and are technologically immature and in some stage of prototype development within their programs; therefore, a background in Systems Program Management and/or defense acquisition is considered extremely valuable for this position.

Military experience, to include inside the Pentagon is a plus. The position will include the preparation of briefings and reports that include acquisition strategy and system analysis.

Additional tasks include coordination with interagency partners, test personnel, and cross-functional teammates within DoD. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of managing projects simultaneously, ranging from urgent requests for information to strategic multi-year projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Current SCI is a bonus.
  • A background in Air Defense and/or Force Protection or specific familiarity with C-UAS or C-UXS (C-UGV, C-USV, C-UUV).
  • Familiarity with unmanned systems, architecture, and technologies.
  • Must be able to develop and brief PowerPoint presentations, provide information papers, and generate written reports to assist DoD Senior Leaders in informed decision-making based on accurate reporting, detailed analysis and astute interpretation of intelligence reports.
  • Self-motivated individual who looks for and finds ways to add organizational value without extensive direction.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Previous C-sUAS / C-UXS experience.
  • Familiarity or background in DoD systems research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E).
  • Familiarity or background in DoD systems Program Management.
  • Familiarity with Defense Acquisition processes and/or management.
  • Familiarity with formal DoD task tracking and management systems and processes.
  • Bachelor s degree.
  • 10 years of work experience.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage multiple Counter-UAS projects through interfacing with DoD and interagency stakeholders.
  • Track and manage multiple tasks utilizing formal DoD Tasking Management Systems.
  • Lead Working Groups and coordinate issues across multiple DoD Components, to include the Interagency and provide support Allies and Partnered Nations.
  • Coordinate with technical SMEs to keep developmental programs on schedule.
