Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Electronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced expertise in hand soldering printed circuit boards (PCBs) and creating wiring harnesses, certified to J-STD-001G/S. This role demands precision, leadership, and a deep understanding of electronic assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced hand soldering of components on printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Design, assemble, and inspect wiring harnesses, ensuring compliance with J-STD requirements.
- Lead the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of complex electronic equipment and systems.
- Mentor and train junior technicians on best practices in soldering, wiring, and assembly.
- Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of electronic components and assemblies to ensure the highest quality standards.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and technical guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes.
- Maintain meticulous records of work performed, including updating technical documentation and logs.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Travel up to 10% of the time to customer sites for installations, repairs, and support.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in electronics or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in hand soldering and electronic assembly, with a focus on high-reliability applications.
- Certification in IPS Soldering J-STD-001G/S soldering and IPC/WHMA-A-620 wiring harness assembly is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to acquire a Secret Clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
