SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Project Manager reports directly to the Capital Manager and manages the capital project program in the assigned production area. Manages multiple capital projects and provides oversight to contract Project Managers/Project Engineers assigned projects in their production area. Projects range from small maintenance replacement projects to major capital expansion projects. Projects typically require coordination of both internal and contract craft resources.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads the entire capital project program for the assigned production area.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to the scope, cost and schedule requirements.
Requests and oversees additional project management resources to execute the approved annual capital plan.
Leads development of the 5-year capital plan and the annual capital budget proposal for the assigned production area.
Develops and documents project scope objectives by conferring with subject matter experts.
Ensures adherence to engineering standards during design and construction.
Prepares work scope documents and cost estimates, in consultation with construction management and cost estimating resources. Reviews bids from contractors.
Determines project schedule, in consultation with construction management and scheduling resources.
Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.
Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes, taking corrective actions.
Controls project costs by approving expenditures and administering contractor contracts.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
Manages resource requirements for estimating cost tracking, scheduling and project performance analysis reporting.
Responsible for monitoring commitments and expenditures against the approved budget, analyzing performance, developing forecasts, recommending mitigation and recovery plans, and preparing cost reports.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum: Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
Minimum: 2 years of Project Management experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: 5+ years of Project Management experience
Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license
Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
EDUCATION:
Minimum Required: Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
Preferred: Master of Science in an engineering discipline from an accredited university
Preferred: Master of Science in Business Administration from an accredited university.
