Technical Architect

Compass Pointe Consulting LLC, is a Maryland based, Woman Owned Small Business specializing in IT and Finance & Accounting Solutions and Services is looking for a Technical Architect. This is a 100% remote position, must be able to pass a Public Trust Investigation.

This person will be a key player, working closely with both our software development and operations teams to architect and deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both software development and infrastructure architecture, with experience navigating the challenges of rolling out large systems into production. This position requires someone who can bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring smooth deployment and integration.

Key Responsibilities:

*Collaborate with Development Teams: Serve as a technical architect, guiding software developers on design and implementation, particularly in

Windows .NET web applications. Provide insight into best practices, system optimization, and troubleshooting complex issues.

*Infrastructure Architecture: Work alongside our operations team to architect infrastructure solutions, particularly with Linux and Windows

environments. Understand the demands of running production systems and guide teams through deployment and scaling.

* Production Deployment: Assist in rolling out applications into production environments, ensuring systems can scale to meet high traffic demands

(millions of users). Troubleshoot any issues during the rollout and provide long-term architectural solutions.

*Communication Liaison: Act as a bridge between development and operations teams, translating technical needs and challenges across departments. Collaborate on process documentation and deployment guidelines for operations teams.

*Hands-on Problem Solving: Step in when developers or operations face technical challenges that haven t been encountered before, providing hands

-on assistance as needed.

*Containerization (Nice to Have): If possible, bring knowledge of application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). However, experience with the

concept and the ability to learn quickly will suffice. Our team can provide further training on this aspect.

Desired Skills & Experience:

Experience:

*Strong background in Windows .NET web application development.

*Proven track record in rolling out large-scale systems into production.

*Deep understanding of both software development and infrastructure architecture.

*Familiarity with Java and Linux environments is a plus, though not required.

*Hands-on experience troubleshooting in production and pre-production environments.

Technical Expertise:

*Proficient in architectural principles of both software and infrastructure.

*Understand the differences between coding for functionality and optimizing systems for large-scale production.

*Experience working with both development and operations teams, navigating challenges on both fronts.

Soft Skills:

*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical requirements to both developers and operations staff.

*Ability to step in and resolve complex technical issues hands-on, even when outside of your direct role.
