Job Description
- Preparing functional requirements and specification for hardware acquisitions
- Analyzing hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.
- Ensuring problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions satisfy user s requirements.
- Assisting with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct site surveys; assesses and documents current site network configuration and site-unique requirements.
- Developing hardware installation schedules based upon set-up, integration, and test timeliness.
- Training site personnel in proper use of hardware
- Recommending specifications for hardware acquisitions
- Preparing engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages
- Preparing drawings documenting as-built configurations
- Configuring computers, communications devices and peripheral equipment
- Preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Schedule requested evaluations submitted from vendors.
Receive, unpack, and setup submitted commercial equipment for evaluation.
Review equipment documentation and manuals.
Select appropriate evaluation SOP s.
Setup appropriate tools and sensors to support evaluations.
Operate equipment to perform defined performance and safety evaluations.
Collect technical data to support evaluation.
Take photographs of equipment and residues from tests.
Generate technical reports to document evaluation results.
Review and update policies reference secure destruction.
Respond to customer inquiries concerning policies and procedures.

- Bachelor s degree and 7 years of experience as HE analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions. Bachelor s degree in communications engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor s degree.
