CFD Research, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a highly skilled project engineer to work with the Test and Evaluation group in performing rapid prototyping and product development to support industry and government customers. In this role the project engineer will work with a fast-paced team to design and develop hardware and standards to support various stakeholders across CFD Research to ensure project and program success.

Project Engineer Job Responsibilities
- Determines project specifications by reviewing customer requirements and coordinating with customer and internal stakeholders
- Develops and maintains project schedules
- Monitors project performance through the establishment of key performance metrics
- Analyzes project financial performance to determine key drivers and areas of opportunity
- Maintains and develops project databases
- Coordinates and develops project deliverables
- Develops a robust understanding of the scope and content of the project
- Works with the internal team to resolve issues

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Experience in development of schedules
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Understanding of product design lifecycle
  • Working familiarity with risk management, configuration management, requirements development, and verification planning
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting, strategic and effective working relationships

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a project management role
  • Experience with EVMS
  • Understanding of how to develop and track program critical path
  • Experience in Microsoft Project
  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or test environment
  • Experience in build-up and deployment of project tools (SharePoint, Confluence, Teams, Access)
  • Working familiarity with ERP systems, demand management and MBOM development

Location: This individual will work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama and may include trips to our testing facility in nearby Hollywood, AL as needed.
