We are working with a financial services firm headquartered in NYC. They are actively hiring a Senior Accounting professional to join their team for an ongoing contract opportunity. The Accounting Analyst will work directly with the CFO/CCO/COO to perform finance, accounting, and fund administration for the private equity fund and real estate funds. This includes the daily accounting for the Funds and Management Companies, as well as the quarter and year-end close processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain general ledgers and book daily cash activity for Funds, subsidiary entities and management companies
  • Maintain Fund accounts payable and manage expense reimbursements according to Fund agreements
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for various entities
  • Assist in the production and distribution of quarterly and annual reports as well as partner capital account statements
  • Assist in the production of the Funds’ periodic distribution process
  • Support annual Fund audits by preparing supporting schedules and documentation
  • Prepare and disseminate Fund capital call and distribution notices to Limited Partners
  • Help implement, organize, update and maintain Fund accounting, administration and Limited Partner contact management database software
  • Coordinate the signing and filing of Federal and State tax returns for numerous Fund and General Partner entities
  • Disseminate annual K-1’s to Limited Partners
  • Help prepare schedules and compile information for Limited Partner requests
  • Reconcile inter-company balances
  • Assist in compliance monitoring activities as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience with Investran and QuickBooks preferred
  • 1-5+ years of work experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital or other investment firms Understanding of partnership accounting
  • Proficient in database management (ex. Intralinks)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and work well under pressure with energy and enthusiasm
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Ability to meet and manage deadlines and display initiative and organization
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and be a team player;
