About the Position

Our client is seeking a National Sales Director to develop and execute the strategy and lead sales for their single-cell portfolio. The National Sales Director will be responsible for managing and directing the US sales team, consisting of Sales Specialists calling on genomics researchers and specializing in capital equipment and reagent sales. This leader will be responsible for forming a winning culture, building a high performing team, evaluation and upskilling direct reports' sales competency, while executing sales processes and implementing business strategies.

About the Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in sales management, people leadership, and talent development
  • 10+ years of technical sales experience in the life sciences, preferably with genomics technologies
  • Knowledge of the genomics and translational market landscape, applications and techniques including gene expression, NGS, sample prep/ library prep for genomic analysis, qPCR, or dPCR
  • Experience selling NGS, single cell analysis, transcriptomic, proteogenomic, or multiomics technologies is highly desired
  • Strong sales management experience with a proven track record of developing sales reps and building successful sales teams
  • Effectively led sales teams of up to ten individuals
  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing others, with a focus on performance management
  • Strong collaboration skills and works well in a matrixed sales environment
  • Experience cultivating KOL relationships and influencing and connecting multiple decision makers
  • Demonstrated success in life science capital equipment sales into pharma, biotech, academic, and research accounts
  • Must be located near a major airport within the US Region and hold a valid state-issued driver's license
  • Up to 70% travel is required
