We are seeking a talented Estimator with a background in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing disciplines to join our client's team in St. Petersburg, FL. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a degree, ensuring strong technical expertise and a commitment to job stability. Responsibilities
- Oversee estimating workflows and schedules to achieve company goals in the short and long term.
- Collaborate effectively with operational teams and clients to define project scopes and analyze bid documentation.
- Develop conceptual engineering skills, including system selection, layout, and sizing.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendors, and distribute supporting documentation.
- Estimate preliminary designs to monitor and validate pricing, conducting thorough research for accuracy.
- Negotiate pricing, address discrepancies, and cultivate strong client relationships.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and training to designated estimating team members.
- Prepare and present finalized estimating packages to executive leadership, senior management, and operational teams.
- Follow through on bid projects and accurately forecast future project awards and probabilities.
- Coordinate with operations to transition awarded projects and execute procurement processes when necessary.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing estimating.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software, such as Accubid, Bluebeam, and/or AutoBid.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high-volume demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities.
