Rooted Food Sales is a boutique, "new school" Foodservice brokerage focusing on helping "better for you brands" grow in the Foodservice channel. We are looking for a passionate, scrappy and thorough sales person who has Foodservice experience/connections and also loves to hunt and create new business! This individual would represent Rooted as the Director of National Accounts with the primary focus being on management companies, distributors at a corporate level and chain accounts. Certainly realize no one has those connections across the board, but that is the spirit of the role!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales through outreach to key Foodservice operators and management companies
  • Be able to turn operator interest into distribution
  • Prospect, outreach, follow up..Rinse and repeat!
  • Develop channel strategies with foodservice sub-channels, ranging from distribution to colleges and universities to regional chains and B&I.
  • Acquire and attend sales appointments
  • Attend and work regional trade shows and sales meetings

Experience & Requirements:

  • Most interesting candidate has several years experience with a startup or natural foods company calling on National Accounts (Colleges & Universities, QSR, C-Store)
  • Experience with Sysco, US Foods, GFS etc. at a corporate level
  • Relationships with management companies such as Sodexo, Compass, Aramark, Avendra etc.
  • Ideal candidate was/is a Manufacturer’s Representative and handles several distributors and key accounts across a large geography
