We are seeking a Lean Construction Practitioner to join our team and report directly to the VP of Safety. The Lean Construction Practitioner uses lean tools, methods, and principles to solve problems, make improvements, and develop the continuous improvement skills of others. This role will confidently identify waste, improve processes, and ensure things run smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with assigned department stakeholders to apply strategic insight into improvement project identification, prioritization, planning, and execution.
  • Develop others skillsets through training, coaching, and facilitation of problem-solving events.
  • Guide stakeholders to develop, leverage, and maintain standard work to enable effective onboarding, cross-training, process control, and improvement.
  • Collaborate with peers, stakeholders, and other support departments to solve problems holistically and sustainably.
  • Coordinate and facilitate problem solving activities to include: Kaizen events, mappings, 8 step problem solving sessions, and workload balancing.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and root cause solutions.
  • Assess, coach and provide constructive feedback to teams in order to strengthen the Continuous Improvement competency.
  • Educate and train employees on Continuous Improvement systems, tools and techniques helping to form a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate and manage resistance to change.
  • Build consensus and influence others through collaboration, strong communication, interpersonal skills, business acumen, and empathy.
  • Develop and update instructional materials.
  • Inspire others to improve.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree (BA,BS) in business or engineering or relevant work experience.
  • 2+ years experience leading or facilitating continuous improvement/lean principles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to influence others and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, facilitate and lead projects - Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong PC/System knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • The selected candidate will travel to job sites in the tri-state area to implement best practices.
