T he Hard Surface Artist will specialize in creating hig h - quality har d surface assets for our weapons, vehicles, props an d architectural elements . This role requires a soli d un d erstan d ing of har d surface creation p roc ess , con str uction story of how objects are built in real life , an d how to translate that into a AAA pro d uct . You 'll work closely with g am eplay d esigners, riggers, animators an d various ot he r artists to d eli ver har d surface art. Roles at our stu d io are fl ex ible , an d you can work from home up to two d ays a week in this role.

Qualifications

Require d qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Certificate in Design, Fine Arts, Human Computer Interaction, Visual Communications or related art field AND 2+ years experience in art design or a related art field working on computer games or entertainment

    o OR equivalent experience.
  • 2 + years of har d surface art pro d uction ex per ience for console , PC g am es OR equivalent.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer an d /or government security scree nin g requirements is require d for this role. T he se requirements inclu d e, but are not limite d to, t he following specialize d security scree nin gs:
  • Microsoft Clou d Backgroun d C he ck: This position will be require d to pass t he Microsoft Clou d backgroun d c he ck upon hire/transfer an d every two years t he reafter.


Preferre d qualifications:
  • D emon str ate d ex per ience with asset creation workflows for g am es.
  • Proficiency in in d u str y-lea d ing D CC tools such as Maya, 3 d sMax, Zbrush , Fusion 360, Plasticity, Substance Painter, etc.
  • Hig h attention to d etail an d t he ability to translate 2 d concepts .
  • Experience com municating across multiple d isciplines within t he te am .
  • Deep passion and interest in or ex per ience with outsource oversight an d ingestion.


Art IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
