As an Associate Principal Scientist in Analytical Enabling Capabilities, the successful candidate is expected to provide scientific expertise, creativity, and technical problem-solving ability to enable the advancement of the development pipeline. The primary responsibilities include chromatographic isolation of pharmaceutical API, intermediates, and impurities from mg scale to multigram semi-prep scale or prep scale, covering the space of small molecules, peptides, protein-based therapeutics as well as emerging modalities in our portfolio. To accelerate the development of new medicines and vaccines, The candidate will be expected to partner with process chemists and ARD scientists to deploy efficient and fit-for-purpose chemical isolation methods, to establish innovative purification workflows, and to deliver purified materials at fit-for-purpose purity. Education Minimum Requirement:
  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical industry.
  • OR M.S.with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry
  • OR Bachelors with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry.


Required Experience and Skills:
  • Expertise in semi-prep/prep scale supercritical fluid chromatographic (SFC) principles, technologies, instrumentation, and workflows, with demonstrated experience in its applications in chiral, achiral isolation of challenging pharmaceutical mixtures to support a variety of pharmaceutical modalities including small molecules, peptides, antibody-drug conjugates and vaccines etc.
  • Strong knowledge in orthogonal chromatographic separation techniques, including reversed phase, ion exchange, size exclusion chromatography etc .
  • Expertise in mass spectrometry and its application in MS-direction chromatographic purification. Strong working knowledge on orthogonal detection technologies, including PDA, Multi-angle light scattering, charged aerosol detection etc.
  • Creative problem solving in scientific research and development, with proven track-record of translating R&D problem solving into impactful pipeline deliveries.
  • Experience in mentoring peers.
  • External scientific engagement that may include a combination of publications, industry white paper contributions, presentations at scientific meetings.
  • Ability to excel in a team-based environment, partnering and influencing in a professional and positive manner.
  • Excellent scientific writing and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Pharmaceutical GMP experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in chromatographic system configuration and troubleshooting with primary focus on SFC

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Expected US salary range:
$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
