Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Piping Designer, for a 12-month contract assignment supporting the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant near Richland, WA. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly base rate with time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization. Our client is targeting $85.00/hour for this role.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Project Overview:
We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. The Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant is located 22 miles northwest of Richland, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Performing 3D modeling of piping and equipment in a 3D model environment.
- Preparation of 2D drawings/documents for General Arrangements and piping isometrics drawings.
- Assist with coordination of 3D model activities (i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines).
- Support planning and scheduling and prepare/maintain design procedures, standards to provide quality design documents as directed.
- Interface with stress and pipe support engineers, construction, and suppliers during the preparation of piping designs for the purpose of model/space control, etc. and perform reviews of engineering documents.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree in mechanical design or similar field.
- 8+ years of design experience using a 3D isometric extraction program.
- Hands-on use of Bentley PlantSpace Design Series or other Bentley 3D modeling applications.
- Extensive knowledge & application of ASME B31.1 and/or B31.3 codes.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on use of Bentley PlantSpace Design Series or other Bentley 3D modeling applications.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
