Position Insight:

An immediate opening for the role of Metallurgical Engineering Subject Matter Expert is now available at our ES3 Clearfield Engineering office. The successful candidate should have over 30 years of hands-on experience in the field of metallurgical engineering, a working knowledge of metallurgical aspects of high strength steel manufacturing and heat treating, and a working knowledge of aircraft first article and metallography test analysis and evaluation requirements.

What You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for metallurgical tasks. Responsible for on-time delivery to customers executing production schedules as well as communicating with management, engineering, and operators.
  • Developing metallurgical design and manufacturing documentation for high strength steel and aluminum aerospace parts. Including detailed material, heat treat, and other processing requirements. Including Detailed test and acceptance requirements.
  • Developing test plans for metallurgical analysis. Coordinating with engineers and technicians to complete metallurgical analysis.
  • Documenting metallurgical design and manufacturing requirements in production drawings, test plans, reports, and briefings.

Qualifications:

  • Must have expertise in high strength steel and aluminum design and manufacturing, including forging, machining, stress relieving, and heat treating.
  • Must have first article testing experience with aircraft parts and assemblies
  • Must be proficient with metallurgical test and evaluation methods. Including metallurgical techniques to evaluate aircraft material and processes meet industry standard requirements.
  • Familiar with aircraft welding requirements and related test and inspection requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors and Master of Science, Metallurgical Engineering
  • Successful candidate should have over 30 years of hands-on experience in the field of metallurgical engineering and working knowledge of aircraft first article and metallography test analysis and evaluation requirements
