Lead The Way To Excellence

The Executive Director, PayerRelations & Contracting has system level responsibility for providing strategic and operational leadership in the development and execution of all types of payer contracting programs. This role will ensure that payer contracts support the financial and operational goals of the organization while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field and approximately fifteen years of progressively responsible related experience that includes payer contracting, physician group practice operations, payer/health plan operations, finance, and/or clinical operations management.
  • Knowledge and vision regarding the changing healthcare payment & delivery model including value-based reimbursement, risk-based arrangements, population health dynamics, provider organization relationships, etc.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and meeting financial performance objectives
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, relationship-management, and communication skills
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with payers to negotiate facility payer contracts on behalf of MHC.
  • Work with finance to model financial impacts of proposed payor contract changes and recommend contractual models & terms to MHC executive leadership for approval.
  • Coordinate management of payer contracts. Ensure coordination with payment validation processes within the Revenue Cycle team.
  • Engage with payers in Joint Operating Committees as appropriate as well as coordinating resolution of payment issues and denials with MHC revenue cycle and payors.
  • Evaluate payer partnership opportunities & opportunities to align disparate payer contracts across MHC on an ongoing basis
  • Represent the at appropriate community, hospital, regional, statewide or national meetings. Maintains open communication with the community, employers, payers, and other key stakeholders in the area of health care.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Reimbursement on matters such as, fee increases and financial analysis of new programs or initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director CIN/PHO Payer Relations on issues with payers
