Overview

The PACS Administrator is responsible for the technical aspects of image and information integrity of the PACS. This individual will act as a liaison in digital imaging initiatives and will work closely with internal departments, vendors and third-party business partners.


Responsibilities

PACS User and Vendor Coordination
* Coordinates and manages vendor support and escalation of application solutions.

* Works with enterprise subject matter experts, Managed Services and vendors in managing resolution of application incidents and requests.

* Oversees activities of vendors in all phases of installation and implementation of new systems.

* Works with enterprise subject matter experts, Managed Services and vendors to evaluate and optimize system architecture, maintenance and implement best practice workflow procedures.



PACS System Management
* Oversees and coordinates PACS informatics strategic planning for medical imaging initiatives.

* Acts as point of escalation for routine operational incidents.

* Assists with troubleshooting application and interface issues and errors.

* Acts as project lead for application upgrades, software additions and system integrations.

* Ensures system design, interface functionality, and billing processes are functioning effectively.

* Works with enterprise subject matter experts, Managed Services and vendors to evaluate and optimize system architecture, maintenance and implement best practice workflow procedures.

* Works closely with radiology's quality management personnel to identify and design future needs and efficient workflow processes, which include further integration into operations. * Researches and evaluates software to recommend programming upgrades, enhancements and use of new technology and program platforms.



PACS Education and Mentorship
* Mentors, trains and leads team members to support growth and development of peers.

* Responsible for training and educating PACS super-users, including training records.

* Conducts hands-on and remote training for supported applications.

* Oversee PACS super-users and ensure adequate PACS coverage at all times throughout NAH. * Maintain competency of all PACS super-users, including competency records.

* Responsible for accountability of PACS super-users in partnership with management.



PACS Administration
* Supports radiologists, hospital partners and outpatient imaging facilities. Monitors performance of applications for efficiencies.

* Responsible for collaborating with management for capital/budgeting needs. * Provides expertise on system integration of imaging modalities.

* Prepares reports for administration on all aspects of PACS operations as appropriate or directed.

* Contributes to the creation and maintenance of departmental standard operating procedures.

* Collaborates with team to develop and standardize educational documentation.

* Promotes application security and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

* Provides input and costs for operating expenses and upgrade/enhancement/new partner projects.



Compliance/Safety
* Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

* Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.

* If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.

* Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.


Qualifications

Education
Bachelor s Degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems discipline or 10 years of progressive PACS experience - Required


Master's Degree in related healthcare discipline or information systems - Preferred


Certification & Licensures
PACS Certification from accredited program- Preferred


Microsoft Suite Certification or CIIP certification - Preferred


Must have a valid State of Arizona driver's license - Required


Experience
10 years experience in healthcare IT- Required
